A new 205-pound champion will be crowned on the main event of UFC 327 when Jiri Prochazka battles Carlos Ulberg for the undisputed gold. However, more than just a belt, both fighters are earning big-time money.
Prochazka’s biggest payday to date was a $1.38 million purse at UFC 303 against Alex Pereira. Given that this is a title fight, it’s rumored that he could earn a similar bag. However, figures are undisclosed for this fight, as it’s been the norm since the Paramount era began.
Prochazka is one of the best light heavyweights on the planet, and he is a UFC fan-favorite. With a 32-5-1 record, he is one of the most respected finishers in the world, stopping 31 opponents in his 32 victories. Out of those, 28 stoppages have been by way of KO.
How much is Carlos Ulberg getting paid at UFC 327?
Being more of an up-and-comer, Ulberg has never gotten a paygrade like Prochazka. His highest reported paycheck was estimated to be between $150,000 and $200,000 by MMA Updates for his fight against Dominick Reyes. He also got $50,000 performance bonus.
Ulberg has a 13-1 record, with eight of his wins coming by way of knockout. He has 10 fights in the UFC, and after losing his debut bout, he has been in a 9-0 run. Ulberg also comes from City Kickboxing, that has produced UFC talents like Israel Adesanya, Alex Volkanovski, Dan Hooker, and Kai Kara-France, among others.
How will the fight between Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg go?
Both are pure strikers, so forget about takedowns, this will be straight-up, standing action. Prochazka is the unorthodox, Tazmanian-devil-esque fighter that will throw caution to the wind in the most unpredictable ways. Flying knees, spinning elbows, low guard, expect the unexpected.
Meanwhile, Ulberg is a tactician, a very technical striker who goes by the book. A very prolific and correct striker, his challenge will be withstanding Prochazka’s madness and controlling the tempo of the fight.
