Aaron Judge and Juan Soto reunited at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, months after Soto’s move to the city rivals. Before the New York Yankees vs New York Mets final game of the Subway Series, Judge approached his former teammate and later shared details of their brief exchange with the media.

The Yankees wrapped up the series with a commanding 8-2 victory, taking two of three games. While Judge didn’t deliver a standout performance this time, Soto made his presence felt in the first two matchups, leaving a strong impression on the fans.

Speaking postgame, Judge explained why he waited until Sunday to approach Soto, saying he hadn’t had the chance during the previous three games. He described the conversation and the heated reception Soto received from the crowd.

“I just said hello to him, I hadn’t seen him all series,” Judge told reporters. “I wished him the best and said, ‘Hey man, you’re the best in the game. Things like this happen, just keep playing your game.’”

“I think he embraced it. He knew what was coming and didn’t change,” Mendoza told reporters after the series. “Sunday was the only day he didn’t produce, but in the other games he got on base, and our pitching staff also stepped up.”

While Soto didn’t hit a home run during the series, he still made a significant impact. He drove in a run in both Games 1 and 2, drew three walks, recorded a hit, and stole two bases, serving as a key motivator for the Mets throughout the weekend.

Judge praises Bellinger’s impact in Subway series win

In the final game against the Mets, Cody Bellinger delivered the decisive blow. His home run electrified the crowd and helped lift the Yankees to a series-clinching win over their crosstown rivals.
