Bryce Harper has been gradually improving his situation with the Philadelphia Phillies in a season that’s been tough for both the team and him due to various injuries. Now, losing an experienced teammate could be another blow for the squad.
The Phillies announced that infielder Alec Bohm has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left rib injury, the severity of which remains unclear. This forced the team to make a roster move, bringing up a replacement from Triple-A.
“Prior to tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, the Phillies placed INF Alec Bohm on the 10-day IL with a fractured left rib. To fill his spot on the 26-man roster, INF/OF Weston Wilson was recalled from Lehigh Valley (AAA),” the Phillies reported on X.
What experience does Weston Wilson have in the majors?
Weston Wilson’s major league experience is undeniably limited. He debuted in 2023, playing in his first eight games alongside Harper and other veterans. The following season, he appeared in 40 games, and in 2025, across 20 games, he’s batting a .194 average.

While Alec Bohm wasn’t the most productive Phillie, the team is losing a .278 average bat, the second-best in that category behind Trea Turner’s .288. Currently, neither Harper nor any other Phillie is hitting above .300.
Do fans support Weston Wilson?
There wasn’t much backlash on social media regarding Weston Wilson. Some fans suggested it was “enough” of Bohm and that the team needed someone better in that role. Overall, reactions to the infielder’s injury and the arrival of the Triple-A player were mixed.
