Russell Westbrook has been the most famous person in the NBA since last night when he decided to request a trade from the Houston Rockets after just one season with the team and his good friend James Harden.

The Rockets couldn’t win despite having two of the most exciting players in today’s game. They took things to the next level with the small-ball lineup and struggled to win games before and during the bubble.

Even though they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder (in seven games), they were no rival for the Los Angeles Lakers, who easily beat them in five matches. Things went really wrong for the Rockets and Russ wants out as soon as possible.

A couple of hours after Russ asked out of the organization, he turned 32. His wife posted a video celebrating Russ’ special day but she wasn’t the one doing it. The Rockets sent a big message for Westbrook on Twitter, celebrating his birthday.

This would’ve been considered a nice gesture under normal circumstances, but fans weren’t happy with this and went after the team, calling them out for congratulating a player that doesn’t even want to be with them.

It’s still unknown where Westbrook is going to play next season but he won’t miss teams trying to land him. He can still be good and he wants to be that player that he once was with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Of course, he’s not getting any younger but Russ’ value around the league is still big.
