There has been a lot of buzz lately about Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future. While he’s already stated that he intends to extend his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks and run it back for the long term, it wouldn’t be the first time in NBA history that we’ve seen these kinds of things happen.

Giannis is reportedly going to be at the top of every single team’s wishlist, with the Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, and Dallas Mavericks waiting in line. However, the Golden State Warriors also have him on their radar.

And, according to ESPN’s senior writer Ramona Shelbourne, if any team has enough assets right now to pull off a deal for the Greek Freak, that’s the Warriors, especially in the wake of the 2020 NBA Draft.

ESPN’s Ramona Shelbourne Says The Warriors Have The Best Trade Package For Giannis Antetokounmpo

“From where I’m sitting guys, that’s the Warriors,” Shelbourne said onthe Damon, Ratto & Kolsky show on 95.7 The Game. They have the best package. People get so upset when I say that, but they do. They have the trade exception, they have (Andrew) Wiggins, they have this year’s pick (No. 2 overall), they have next year’s Minnesota pick (top-three protected in 2021, unprotected in 2022). Maybe you even have to talk about Klay Thompson or Draymond (Green) being in a package like that, too. But they have a great package if it comes down to it,” she added.

Even if that may sound far-fetched, Shelbourne has a point. Now, whether they’d be willing to part ways with Klay Thompson and/or Draymond Green to land Giannis Antetokounmpo is yet to be seen.

As of now, there’s no true indication that Giannis indeed wants to leave Wisconsin or that the Bucks would even entertain the idea of trading him. Then again, we’ve already seen and heard all this before.
