Seth Curry can brag about being surrounded by two of the most electrifying players in recent basketball history: Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry. He plays with one in the Dallas Mavericks and grew up next to the other, his big bro.
Seth is perhaps the most authorized person in the world when it comes to discussing both of their games. He’s seen them work on their craft on a daily basis and got to know them deeply beyond the basketball court.
That’s why it didn’t strike as a surprise to see the Mavericks’ backup point guard compare Doncic to his brother Steph. According to Seth, they’re both special talents who approach the game in a very similar way:
“It’s just the joy he plays with. He’s a young kid, and you can tell when he gets out on the floor he just loves the game. Honestly, it’s similar to Steph,” Seth saidinThe Ryen Russillo Podcast.“He’sjust out there having a lot of fun. He gets a lot of attention and can pass the ball and get it to me.He is special already,” Curry concluded.
Luka Doncic And Stephen Curry Go Way Back
Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic worked out together secretlybefore the Slovenian’s rookie season and it was a moment he’ll cherish forever. He was reportedly starstruck when he met the 2-time MVP and greatest shooter of all time.
“For me, I just wanted him to be exposed to the excellence of Steph. Not just Steph’s skill, but appreciating the work that goes into it,” his agent Bill Duffy told NBC Sports following their private meeting.
Doncic is far from being the shooter Curry is but his game already reeks of greatness and he’s put the NBA on notice. They both have that joy of a kid just hooping with his friends on his backyard and, as Seth said, he’s special already.
