Last season, Jimmy Butler was among the most notable players to be traded, as the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors struck a deal that placed him with the Warriors for the remainder of the season. Departing a challenging situation in Miami, Butler is now preparing for the upcoming season alongside Stephen Curry and the rest of the Warriors squad.

Ahead of their opening night clash against the Los Angeles Lakers, Butler expressed his thoughts about leaving Miami, indicating that his tenure with the Heat had been far from ideal. All that noise, all that chaos paid off in a major way. I’m fortunate to be part of this phenomenal organization. Everywhere starts off great, but then, you know, someone has to be the bad guy, and it ends up being me,” Butler told the media.

Butler continued: “I’m always the one doing something unbearable all of a sudden… But that’s OK.” This statement suggests the player is ready to embark on a fresh start after the tumultuous situation with the Heat.

Along with Curry, Jonathan Kuminga, Al Horford, and Draymond Green, the Warriors are primed for their NBA season debut on Tuesday night against a key rival, the Lakers. Notably, Luka Doncic will feature for the Lakers, but they will be without LeBron James, who is currently sidelined with a significant injury.

“Being here [with the Warriors], they’ve only got one aim: to keep hanging championships on the wall. There are no hidden agendas,” Butler remarked, contrasting the current philosophies of the Warriors and the Heat.

As the new season approaches, Jimmy Butler anticipates making a significant impact with the Warriors, acknowledging that his role on this team is not to be the primary star, but to contribute as a vital part of a collective alongside other top-tier players. This could bode well for the upcoming season, which kicks off this week.
