The San Francisco 49ers are determined to be contenders once again next season in the NFL and chase another Super Bowl title. To achieve this, they are working against the clock to form the most competitive roster possible, and fortunately for Brock Purdy, a key piece of the team will be back by his side for what’s ahead.
Kyle Juszczyk, the talented fullback from Kyle Shanahan’s team, had been released by the Bay Area franchise days earlier; however, he has now agreed to a two-year extension. Definitely great news for Purdy and the rest of his teammates.
The news was confirmed by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who, through his X (formerly Twitter) account, provided more details about the agreement between the fullback and the San Francisco 49ers, who will have the player’s services for a bit longer.

The former Baltimore Ravens player and nine-time Pro Bowler had been released on Tuesday; however, after intense negotiations, it was finally agreed that he would continue with the 49ers.
A Super Bowl champion will no longer be with the 49ers
In their effort to build a competitive roster and with the main goal of improving on last season’s poor campaign, the San Francisco 49ers continue their player recruitment process. At the same time, it’s time to inform those who will not be considered.
Leonard Floyd, former Georgia Bulldogs player and Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Rams under Sean McVay, will no longer be part of the San Francisco franchise and will take his talents to another team.
“More moves in SF: 49ers are releasing Leonard Floyd, per source,” the insider stated via @AdamSchefter.

The goal of returning to the Super Bowl
Last season left a bittersweet taste in San Francisco, as the team failed to meet the expectations set at the beginning of the year.
Recent history shows that the team led by Shanahan was very close to securing another Super Bowl ring. On the night of February 11, 2024, the 49ers were defeated 25-22 by Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs, ending the season empty-handed.
One of the most successful and storied franchises in the NFL is looking to get back on track and will aim to be a contender once again, with the goal of adding another trophy to their collection.
