Not necessarily in a revenge way, but whenever you play a team that you are familiar with â I had the same thing in college going back and playing Texas Tech â it means a lot to you. We are going to play for him because he is one of our guys so we need to do that,â Mayfield told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Odell Beckham Jr was barely able to play this year. He suffered a season-ending ACL injury and some people even speculate whether heâll come back to the team next year or if theyâll find him a trade partner.
Whatever the case may be, itâs obvious that OBJ wouldâve loved to be out there on the field to face and beat the New York Giantsâ top-notch defense, but it seems like heâll have to wait another year for that. Now, itâs up to Baker Mayfield and his teammates to step up for him and give him something to cheer for right before Christmas.
