Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams spoke up on the Packers not giving them more help

Green Bay Packers' superstars Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were unfazed by the fact that their team didn't make any moves during the trade deadline.

The Green Bay Packers are a legit candidate to make the Super Bowl this season but they would be even more of a lock to transcend in the playoffs if they gave Aaron Rodgers some actual help besides Davante Adams.

The Packers refused to address their obvious need for another wide receiver in the offseasonand then traded up in the NFL Draft to get Jordan Love – a quarterback – in the first round, which was even odder.

And now that it seemed like they had a deal in place for Houston Texans’ Will Fuller, they refused to meet their asking price, as a second-round pick looked like way too much for an injury-prone, soon-to-be free agent.

Davante Adams Didn’t Feel Like The Packers Needed Another Receiver

So, when asked about whether the team needed another wideout opposite him or not, Davante Adams claimed that he didn’t feel like it was an urgent need because he trusts the rest of their receiving corps:

“I wouldn’t say we necessarily need to (trade for a receiver) because I think we’ve shown what we can do. When I went down, guys stepped up and did what they had to do. Stepped up big. I wouldn’t say it’s a need,” Adams told USA Today.

Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Want To Get Into Controversies

As for Aaron Rodgers, the former MVP didn’t want to address the decisions of the front office, stating once again that his job is to play quarterback and not to make any kinds of moves or calls:

“I’m not going to get into those conversations. Again, I’m just going to reiterate what I said and continue to say, that I clearly understand my role and my place on this team, and that’s my focus,” Rodgers said.

The Packers are currently sitting on a 5-2 record and at the top of the NFC North, and while Aaron Jones has certainly given them a huge threat on the ground that provides more balance to their offense, the lack of another legit threat in the passing game could come back and hurt them when it matters the most.
