The Baltimore Ravens are one of the teams to beat in the NFL this season and that goes without saying. Then again, they could definitely use an upgrade in the pass-rush, and Jadeveon Clowney might as well be their go-to-guy.

Jadeveon Clowney was traded to the Seattle Seahawks last season but even threatened to sit out unless he got the kind of deal he was looking for in free agency. Months later, the former first-overall pick has yet to sign with a team.

However, Pro Football Talk recently reported that the Baltimore Ravens are the frontrunners in the Clowney’s sweepstakesand that a deal between both parties looks imminent, barring a last-second change of heart.

Jadeveon Clowney was looking for a multi-year deal that granted him at least $20 million per season. The Ravens, however, only have around $15 million in cap space, so the details of the agreement are yet to be revealed.

Baltimore could use a boost in their defense after cutting All-Pro safety Earl Thomas several days ago after he got physical with a teammate. They’ll be contenders for as long as Lamar Jackson is leading the way, so adding another elite talent like Clowney is definitely a huge power move by the Ravens.
