CeeDee Lamb makes bold admission in WR1 battle with George Pickens as Cowboys gear up for 2025 NFL season

Heading into the 2025 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys will feature George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb as their primary wide receivers.

CeeDee Lamb has been, over the past few years, one of Dak Prescott’s primary targets when executing routes in the offense. For the upcoming 2025 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys made the decision to strengthen this department by acquiring former Steelers wide receiver George Pickens, which suggests an interesting debate over who should be the quarterback’s main option in the passing game.

Now, it will be up to newly appointed head coach Brian Schottenheimer to ultimately decide who gets the nod in order to bring more depth to the team’s offensive attack. In any case, the former Oklahoma Sooner knows both receivers can coexist on the field without issue.

At a recent charity softball game organized by Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, Lamb was asked about the possibility of both he and Pickens serving as viable options for Prescott. He made it clear that they could absolutely fill those roles without any problems.

“We both ones,” Lamb said, via DLLS Cowboys. “It ain’t no A, B, none of that. It’s one. You look over there, you see one. You look over here, you see another one. So do what you gotta do with that.”

In addition to Lamb and Pickens, the receiving corps also features some promising talent such as Jonathan Mingo, Jale Crooper, KaVontae Turpin, and Kelvin Harmon, among others.

A healthy competition for Lamb

The Dallas Cowboys know they owe it to their fans, which is why all their focus is on the upcoming NFL season to turn around the disappointing last campaign, which ended with a final record of 7 wins and 10 losses.

Since entering the league, CeeDee Lamb has become one of the top figures at his position, having only shared the field with another major figure, Amari Cooper, back in 2021. No other receiver has matched his 660-yard mark or come within 52 catches since then.

The arrival of Pickens from another contender like the Steelers means the offense has, in some way, been strengthened, raising the bar even higher for a receiving corps that aims to improve its stats and make a deep run next season.
