Dak Prescott will once again be tasked with leading the Dallas Cowboys next season, and expectations are sky-high for the franchise quarterback. Executive vice president Stephen Jones is well aware of the pressure the QB faces — and with the NFL Draft just around the corner, the Cowboys know there’s no room for error.

With Brian Schottenheimer now at the helm for America’s Team, the Cowboys are looking to redeem themselves after several underwhelming seasons that kept them out of serious playoff contention.

The latest move in the quarterback room came with the addition of former New England Patriots player Joe Milton III, who joins Dallas as the primary backup to Dak Prescott ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Stephen Jones shows strong support for Prescott

In recent remarks during the team’s pre-draft press conference, executive vice president Stephen Jones reaffirmed his support for Dak Prescott — but made it clear that the organization isn’t leaving anything to chance heading into what’s next.

ā€œWell, we’ve got a major commitment with Dak,ā€ Jones said. ā€œAnd so, you weigh all of that. But I was going to add to this whole conversation that it’s very often that somebody will step up and say, ā€˜We got this guy right here. We’ve got him, and we just signed him under contract.’ Well guess what? — guys get hurt. So, you bet your whole house that you got him and then all of a sudden you don’t have him. So that’s when your old mind starts saying, ā€˜Well, if his guy did get hurt, what would we do this year?’ There you go.ā€œ
