The Miami Dolphins have sent a clear message to the NFL that they have begun a rebuilding process under general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. However, De’Von Achane will not be part of that long list of players leaving the team.
The Dolphins have said goodbye to names like Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, and Minkah Fitzpatrick, taking on a massive dead money hit but acquiring draft capital for the future.
As a consequence, in this new era that will be led by Malik Willis as the franchise quarterback, one of the big questions is whether, given his high value, Achane would be on the trading block during free agency.
Will Dolphins trade De’Von Achane?
No. The Miami Dolphins will not trade De’Von Achane, according to a report from Adam Schefter. The team’s front office views him as a key piece to help Malik Willis.
“Sources: Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl running back De’Von Achane. They have been told that he is not available.”
In the coming weeks, especially through the draft, the Dolphins will have to start filling the large number of holes across their roster. The running back position won’t be a priority thanks to Achane.
