Former Aaron Rodgers weapon believes LeBron James would've been a legend in the NFL

According to a former teammate of Aaron Rodgers in the NFL, LeBron James could have been a great football player.

LeBron James’ legacy transcends sports—that much is clear. The current Los Angeles Lakers star has always shown a strong connection to the NFL, prompting many, including a former teammate of Aaron Rodgers on the Packers, to reflect on what The King might have achieved had he chosen football over basketball.

Recently incorporated into the Los Angeles Rams for the upcoming season after a stint with the New York Jets, Davante Adams emerges as one of the main weapons Matthew Stafford will have at his disposal for his team. But would you imagine the former Raider forming a receiving duo alongside James in an offense?

That sounds wild, of course. However, Adams himself revealed in a recent dialogue with the press that, had LeBron dedicated his career to football, he undoubtedly would have become a legend in the sport.

ā€œHe would’ve been one of the best receivers, tight ends of all time,ā€ Adams said in appearance on The Dan Patrick Show. ā€œNo question. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen him play football … he can fly, too, that’s the thing.

ā€œHe’s one of the fastest NBA players, probably of all time. I’ve never seen someone cover space on a basketball court [like him], maybe John Wall or Derrick Rose, something like that. But he’s up there with all of ’em.ā€

LeBron James in the NFL?

Although LeBron James is now in the twilight of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, many have wondered what might have happened had he fully committed to football instead of basketball.

In an interview earlier this year with the Kelce brothers on the New Heights podcast, he admitted he has definitely thought about what a career in the NFL could have looked like for him—and revealed that at one point, he even gave serious thought to leaving the NBA to make the switch.

ā€œWe know you played football back in the day at [Akron high school] St. Vincent-St. Mary,ā€ Travis said. ā€œHas it ever actually crossed your mind what you could possibly do in the NFL?ā€ To which The King didn’t hesitate to respond: ā€œAbsolutely, absolutely.ā€

ā€œThe only time I’ve really taken it super super serious, I think it was 2011 when we had the NBA lockout. And I didn’t know when we were going to make the deal with the owners and get our league back going. So I actually thought about it a little bit back then. I was still young enough to get out there with y’all, but that’s the only time I’ve actually seriously considered it. I’ve had serious dreams about this (expletive) all the time.ā€
