The NFL can be lowkey pretty mean. I mean, putting New York Giants at Washington Football Team in one of the first primetime games of the season was just cruel. But, contrary to expectations, it was a pretty exciting game from start to finish.
Daniel Jones was moving the chains at will both on the ground and in the air. For some reason, he always lights up Washington’s allegedly top-tier defense — which was nowhere to be found last night.
Most oddsmakers, gamblers, and fans thought that we were in for a massive snoozefest. A 16-13 kind of game. Instead, Giants and Washington went down to the wire in what turned out to be a bit of a shootout.
Taylor Heinicke threw a crucial late-game interception that pretty much sealed the game in favor of the Giants. But then, in full NFC East fashion, a key penalty gave the Football Team a huge first-down to keep their offense alive and put them in field goal range.

Now, Joe Judge’s team is 0-2 to start the season, including a winnable game vs. a divisional rival whose QB1 was out. The Washington Football Team, on the other hand, is 1-1 and will have plenty of adjustments to do on the defensive side of the football.
Once again, you can say whatever you want about the NFC East, but you can’t deny that it’s a never-ending source of laughs and excitement. For better or worse. We want more of this, NFL (actually, please don’t).
