Josh Allen’s Bills and the Saints are after a 2x Super Bowl champion with Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs

A two-time Super Bowl champion with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes on the Kansas City Chiefs has reportedly worked out both for the New Orleans Saints and Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills.

With Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes dominating the AFC for years now, the Buffalo Bills are reportedly looking at a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs to boost Josh Allen‘s options in offense. However, it appears that the New Orleans Saints are after the same target.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, the Saints had wide receiver Justyn Ross in for a workout on Tuesday. Before this, the Clemson product also had a tryout with the Bills.

Ross, who turns 26 in December, has been without a team since July, when the Chiefs granted his request to be released this offseason. After many years without a prominent role, the wideout is looking to prove his worth in the NFL.

Ross’ experience with the Chiefs

A national champion with Clemson in 2018, Ross joined the Chiefs after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He went on to spend many years around Reid and Mahomes in Kansas City, but mostly with the practice squad.

His stint at Arrowhead saw Ross celebrate two of the Chiefs’ championships in the Reid-Mahomes era though, as he was part of the franchise during its Super Bowl wins in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Ross is now working for a chance to prove he belongs in the NFL, with two teams in need of wide receiver depth giving him a chance. The Bills are expected to provide Allen with more alternatives at the position after a relatively quiet offseason.

The Saints, meanwhile, have also been exploring potential additions at WR recently. Apart from Ross, New Orleans had another Super Bowl champ with the Chiefs in for a workout in Cornell Powell, who went to Clemson as well. Wideouts Javonte Payton and Roderick Daniels also worked out for the Saints, so it’s safe to say the battle for a roster spot is wide open.
