With several weeks still remaining before the kickoff of the NFL season, the Detroit Lions have been dealt a significant blow with an injury update concerning one of Jared Goff‘s key teammates. Head coach Dan Campbell announced that the player recently underwent surgery, and the prognosis does not look favorable for the upcoming season.

Onwuzurike participated in 16 out of 17 regular season games and was a crucial part of the playoff contest against the Washington Commanders.

Over the course of 17 games, Onwuzurike tallied 31 combined tackles, including 19 solos. Last season, he set a personal best with 13 quarterback hits, a significant jump from the three he notched over his previous two seasons.
