Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers seem to have seen what they needed from Aaron Rodgers. During an interview with The Athletic, the teamās offensive coordinator Arthur Smith confirmed that the veteran quarterback has surprised him despite being 41 years old.
āCertainly, heās not 25 years old anymore, but heās in incredible condition. Heās throwing on the move and heās making some throws on the run that are āwowā type of throws that I donāt think many quarterbacks are making. I think itās all still there. Heās certainly going to be able to escape the pocket and extend plays for us when he needs to. All of the movement passing game, itās alive and well with him.ā
So, in an unexpected turn of events, Smith is warning NFL teams that Rodgersā mobility is still very much alive. A key component if the Steelers want to fight for the Super Bowl.
Who will be Steelersā starting QB?
Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since the start of the offseason, Mike Tomlin laid out a plan to convince him after Russell Wilson and Justin Fields left the team.
Mason Rudolph will be the backup, while for now, Skylar Thompson is No. 3 on the depth chart. This is because Will Howard got injured in training camp. However, when the rookie returns, that order could change again.
