Aaron Rodgers has yet to play a single official snap with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he’s already beginning to earn the respect of his new teammates. Amid a season filled with expectations for head coach Mike Tomlin’s squad, a recent comment about A-Rod caught attention.
The wait could be worth it for the Steelers. Rodgers is starting to establish himself in his role as a mentor for Pittsburgh. Beyond his history as an MVP and future Hall of Famer, he’s now also standing out for the influence he’s having within the locker room.
Tomlin and the front office have had a long offseason before seeing A-Rod in the black & gold jersey, but the 41-year-old veteran is facing a crucial season (possibly the last of his career) and wants to connect with all his weapons before hitting the field. Even if that might be surprising.

Running back Evan Hull is looking to earn a spot on Tomlin’s roster after joining this year following a stint with the Indianapolis Colts. Speaking to KSTP Channel 5’s website, he expressed admiration for Rodgers after a personal interaction during training camp. “I was impressed, he is a cool guy,” Hull revealed about the quarterback’s gesture.

According to Hull, Rodgers took the time to get to know him well before speaking to him for the first time: “He knew things about me before we even talked. That really stood out to me. He does his homework, you can tell he cares about the team,” Hull said sincerely.

“I was like, ‘That’s pretty cool.’ I noticed, the first time meeting another teammate, he knew stuff about him too. He really took the time to get to know his teammates. In this year, in this game for him, I was impressed by that. He’s just an impressive person in general,” Hull concluded.
