Jordan Love spent the first three years of his NFL career learning from Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers. Now, during an interview with Kay Adams, the young quarterback spoke about the dilemma his mentor is going through as he decides whether to keep playing or choose retirement.
“We’ll see. I’m not even going to speak on that (retirement). I hope that’s not the case. Watching that man play, I definitely think he’s got some more years in the tank. That was my mentor coming into the league. So, I’d hate to see him go out, but, I mean, he’s had a phenomenal career. Definitely a Hall of Famer. We’ll see. I don’t think he’s ready to end it though.”
In this scenario, if Rodgers wants to keep playing as Love anticipates, his only real option at the moment is to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the veteran is hesitant to commit to any team.
Will Aaron Rodgers retire?
Jordan Love believes that Aaron Rodgers is not ready to retire yet. For that reason, if his mentor decides to sign with the Steelers or the Vikings, Love could face him since the Packers have both teams on their 2025 schedule.
“Yeah, we’ll have to see. I mean, who knows what team he’s going to end up on right now. So, we’ll see that. I would definitely love to play A-Rod. That will be cool. Obviously, I started my career with him being a backup to now playing against him. That would definitely be a pretty cool experience. We’ll see where he is up. I know there’s a lot of question marks around that.”
