Tom Brady now officially has his statue at the New England Patriots’ stadium — something many fans saw coming sooner or later. It’s a well-deserved honor, but during the unveiling, Brady didn’t miss the chance to take a playful shot at the New York Jets.
Speaking in front of his statue in Foxborough, Brady made it clear the monument could serve as a perfect target for Jets fans to vent their frustrations — a nod to the heated rivalry that has long tilted in New England’s favor.
The 12-foot-tall statue is an easy mark for those “angry” Jets fans. Made of bronze and weighing 12,300 pounds, it was designed by Jeff Buccacio, who spent 20,000 hours crafting it alongside his team.
Brady stokes the rivalry
Despite the Patriots’ recent struggles, the history between the two franchises still leans heavily toward New England, which holds a 75-56-1 all-time record against the Jets. Last season, the teams split their matchups — the same result as in 2023, a trend not seen since 2015.
Against the Jets, Brady built an imposing legacy: 64 touchdown passes, 31 wins, just six losses, and 9,570 passing yards with a 7.0-yard average per attempt. His final win over them came in 2013, a 13-10 home victory.
