Patrick Mahomes has sent a big message to Drew Brees ahead of the highly-anticipated New Orleans Saints–Kansas City Chiefs game this Sunday. The Chiefs will try to continue their good moment against the Saints, who will see their biggest challenge of the season in Pat Mahomes and co.
The Chiefs quarterback was ready to face Brees, who is still recovering from an injury, and he made it clear that he wants to go against the 2010 Super Bowl champion this Sunday when two of the best offensives in the NFL clash.
Mahomes had nothing but good words to say about the veteran quarterback and was really convincing about his desire to face Brees. This is a very good game and nobody would like to miss it at home or in the field.
Patrick Mahomes sends big message to Drew Brees ahead of Sunday showdown
Pat is well aware that Brees has had a terrific career, always delivering for his team, leaving no doubt about his quality every time he steps on the court. The Saints have been fine without Brees but having him on the field is certainly a boost for them.
“I mean, it is truly special to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and to be able to consistently produce every single year,” Mahomes said, via Myles Simmons on NBC Sports. “Hopefully, we get to go up against him, I get to go up against him. But if not, hopefully we’ll get to face him at some other time because you want to play against those great quarterbacks you watched growing up that were guys that you looked up to in the way they played the game.”
This game will see two candidates to win the Super Bowl going against each other. The Saints have been great in the NFC and Pat with his Chiefs have done a terrific job in the AFC. Perhaps this is a sneak peek of what we will see in February, hopefully with Brees and Mahomes in their best shape.
