The NFL offseason has undoubtedly brought a lot of movement across several teams. The Las Vegas Raiders have Pete Carroll as their new head coach, but unfortunately for them, a key player from the roster has decided to leave for the NFC North and join Jordan Love’s Green Bay Packers.
The player in question is none other than the talented Nate Hobbs, who, after spending three seasons with the Raiders, is finally changing course and joining the Packers to compete in the upcoming season.
Tom Pelissero was the one who reported this trade through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where he provided more details about the agreement reached between the cornerback and Green Bay.
“The #Packers are signing former #Raiders CB Nate Hobbs, per source. It’s a four-year, $48 million deal including $16M guaranteed.,” the insider reported via @TomPelissero.

Nate Hobbs #39 of the Las Vegas Raiders leaves the field after the Raiders’ 15-9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons at Allegiant Stadium on December 16, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada
Hobbs’ arrival in Wisconsin hints at a potential departure of Jaire Alexander from the franchise, who has made it clear that he intends to seek a new destination this offseason.
Carroll secures an important defensive end
Despite Hobbs’ departure to the Packers, the Raiders’ new head coach, Pete Carroll, has reasons to end the day with a smile.

Despite missing the entire season due to a serious knee injury, the Raiders have shown their confidence by re-signing defensive end Malcolm Koonce, with the goal of giving him more playing time heading into the future.
Selected with the 79th pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft, Koonce joined the Raiders from Buffalo Bulls, and his career went from promising to downhill, with his last season being nullified due to a serious injury suffered before its start.
If he returns to his best form, Koonce could form an imposing duo alongside Maxx Crosby, strengthening a unit that faced serious issues last season.
