A couple of days ago, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay sent a positive message to the team’s fans regarding their quarterback, Matthew Stafford. He told the media the signal-caller threw over 60 passes in practice with no limitation. However, a new report might send panic as it almost contradicts what we heard before.
Adam Grosbard, Rams insider, reported that “Rams QB Matthew Stafford (back) is in street clothes today. Expectation was he would return to practice today.” This has made fans voice their opinions heavily on social media.
From pessimistic fans saying “Time to panic Rams fans” to some others that don’t even think Stafford will play at a his usual standard, “Bro is not playing at a high level this year . Herniated disc ain’t no joke. No way he playing all the games I’ll give him 9,” Rams fans are feeling a rollercoaster of emotions.
Rams fans can’t take the uncertainty anymore
Even NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reacted to the original tweet, and the responses on his quote are on the same track. However, if there is something in this world is people trying to find silver linings. One guy tweeted “I think everyone concerned are overly concerned and that the Rams & Stafford knows exactly what they are doing.” However, the overwhelming majority are on the negative side.
There are some users already saying Stafford should call it a career. “Time to retire,” said user Real_Talks_Ind. User Captain Greeno also tweeted “He should just retire.” In fact, Stafford has flirted with the idea of retiring for the last two years.

What is exactly what Stafford is dealing with?
Few NFL quarterbacks have played through more injuries than Matthew Stafford. The guy has suffered multiple big injuries in his career and has played through a lot of them. He is one of the most respected players because of that.
However, at 37 years old, it’s tougher to go out there and play. Especially now, that he’s dealing with another huge injury. Stafford is suffering from an aggravated disk in his back. This is an injury that will limit movement and throwing motions heavily. After McVay’s last press conference, the hope was for him to be on pace to recover, but now, it remains to be seen. Stafford’s backup is Jimmy Garoppolo.
