It seems like it was just yesterday when the New England Patriots were the most feared and dominating team around the National Football League, with Tom Brady under center and LeGarrette Blount breaking tackles out of the backfield.

We’ve seen how fast things can change in the NFL. Injuries, coaching changes, trades, contracts, or even misconduct can lead a player or a team to completely change his fate. One day you’re at the top, and the next you’re a free-agent with no interest from other teams.

That’s why former Patriots star LeGarrette Blount finally decided to announce his retirement from the game after winning 3 Super Bowl rings, penning an emotional message on his social media accounts.

LeGarrette Blount Announces Retirement, Tom Brady Reacts

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before his friend and former teammate Tom Brady took his time to thank him for all the great memories and moments they shared in the huddle through their careers:

“So proud of you and everything you accomplished champ it was my pleasure always to be there for you and loved sharing the huddle with you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” his former quarterback replied on Blount’s heartfelt post.

Blount bounced around the league since being undrafted in 2010. He broke out with the Pittsburgh Steelers but some issues off the field made them cut him with plenty of time left on his contract.

The Florida native would later win a couple of rings with the Patriots during his second stint with the team, even scoring 18 touchdowns in 2016. Then, he won his third ring with the Philadelphia Eagles.

And while he may not be remembered as the most dominant force on the ground, he still managed to pile up more rushing touchdowns than other players likeJamaal Charles, Brian Westbrook, Chris Johnson, Arian Foster, Larry Johnson, and even Matt Forte, which is quite impressive.
