Aaron Rodgers has kept the NFL on edge for weeks amid uncertainty about his future. Although the Pittsburgh Steelers seem to have the edge in signing him, there have been many rumors about a possible wait for a call from the Minnesota Vikings, or even retirement.
During an interview with Pat McAfee, Rodgers argued that the reason he hadn’t signed with any team was due to issues with his inner circle. Later, in a conversation with Joe Rogan, the veteran expanded on that information, mentioning that some close people are battling cancer.
However, just a few days ago, the Super Bowl champion quarterback sparked controversy by appearing completely relaxed at a Mike Stud event. There, Aaron Rodgers confirmed that he will not play for the Saints, dropping several hints that his next team could be Pittsburgh.
Is Aaron Rodgers signing with the Steelers?
At the moment, Aaron Rodgers has only two remaining “windows” on the timeline to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The first is before the mandatory minicamp, which will take place between June 10 and June 12.
If Rodgers doesn’t sign at that time, the only remaining opportunity would be training camp, which is likely scheduled to begin in the last week of July. Undoubtedly, it would be practically impossible for the quarterback to join the team after that.
