Jim Hiller has led the Los Angeles Kings on a strong path this season, and until recently, they were enjoying a solid winning streak that unfortunately came to an end in a road game against the Minnesota Wild. The Kings had taken the lead but couldn’t hold onto it, and Hiller made his thoughts clear.
According to comments from Hiller collected by LA Kings Insider, he spoke mainly about the mistakes his players made against the Wild, saying, “Somebody making a mistake, which that was ours, on us, and then somebody has to make a play and then they made a play, two plays I guess, probably the pass and the shot.”
After the Kings scored the first and only goal in the first period, they couldn’t do much more, and the disaster in the third period was evident, something Hiller had to admit, saying, “We got a little sloppy in the third, second period I thought we played really well, good period.”
Hiller knows there are still things to improve, especially with the Kings’ power play unit that failed to capitalize on opportunities in the game: “Yeah, there’s no question. I think what we’ve got now is we’ve scored some nice goals, but that unit has to score…”
Adrian Kempe Joins the Conversation
Kings’ top scorer Adrian Kempe also weighed in on the team’s loss to the Wild, acknowledging, “Overall, I think we played a pretty good game. I think they did as well. I think it was pretty even throughout the game, a ton of chances going back and forth.”
