The Pittsburgh Penguins‘ 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche left a lot to be desired. First, the Pens suffered their third consecutive loss in the 2024-25 NHL season, and star Sidney Crosby took to the microphones to set the record straight.
Despite the efforts of Crosby and the entire team, the Penguins were unable to capitalize on their power play opportunities, and after a penalty in the final minutes, the Avalanche scored on the man advantage. Colorado added two more empty net goals to make the final score 4-1 in favor of the Avalanche.
Crosby’s best moment on the ice came against the Avs in the second period when he made a secondary assist, passing the puck to Bryan Rust, who then set up Rickard Rakell from the crease. The goal temporarily tied the game at 1-1. Still, the Penguins star had a message to deliver.
Crosby’s honest admission after loss to Colorado
“We just got stuck out there for a little bit. It’s one of those games that you hope you find a way to win it because we did a lot of good things. Unfortunately, we didn’t, and it’s been kind of going that way since the break – where we’ve put some really good games together and feel like we deserve better, but you don’t get participation points. So, you gotta find a way to win games,” Crosby said according to NHL.com.

“Obviously, they’re dangerous. We were just a little bit out of position there. They find holes, they find seams, and that’s what they did. But I thought for the most part, they’re a really good team off the rush and in-zone, and for the most part, we did a pretty good job,” Crosby said.
