The Dallas Stars are making it clear they’re ready to battle the Colorado Avalanche in the early stages of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. With a narrow win, they’ve put themselves back in the fight. Head coach Pete DeBoer knows taking the series won’t be easy, but he praised his team’s resilience and determination to pull through when it mattered most.

Speaking to the media after his team’s 4–3 win over the Avalanche, Pete DeBoer drew a pointed parallel between the current situation and what the Stars experienced at this stage of the playoffs last season.

“Our season’s on the line if we lose the first two games here. We got away with it last year in series one against Vegas, but you’re probably not going to that well again this year and winning,” Pete DeBoer said via NHL.com. “We knew our season was on the line, and like I said, I thought we got more direct in our game, more competitive, and got rewarded for that.

Dallas will need to maintain the same level of intensity in Game 3 if they truly want to swing the momentum in their favor. It won’t be an easy task, but there’s a strong belief within the organization that they can land a blow against one of the top contenders.

The high point, according to Jamie Benn

If there’s one quality that defined the Dallas Stars in their hard-fought win over Colorado, it was undoubtedly their winning mentality on the ice — a relentless drive to chase the game and push for the result from start to finish.

Jamie Benn, the team’s captain, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his teammates, highlighting the Stars’ resilience — not just in this game, but throughout the entire process leading up to this point.

“We had 20 minutes to tie it up, and we did that, and we moved on. That’s what I like about this group. There’s a lot of character in here. We’ve been through a lot as a group and stuck with it and found a way to win,” Benn said via NHL.com.
