The Dallas Stars cruised to a 4-3 victory over Edmonton Oilers, fueled by a natural hat trick from Jason Robertson in the second period. Despite the win, however, Stars coach Pete DeBoer expressed concern about his team’s “immature and sloppy” play, especially in the first and third periods.

The win, which extends the Stars’ point streak to six games (4-0-2), moves them five points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche in the Central Division standings. However, the team’s performance raises questions as the playoffs approach.

Jason Robertson, with his second hat trick of the season and the fifth of his NHL career, was the standout figure of the game. Wyatt Johnston also scored for the Stars, while Roope Hintz contributed three assists and Thomas Harley had two. Jake Oettinger made 41 saves to secure the win for Dallas.

On the other hand, the Oilers, who played without McDavid and Leon Draisaitl for the second straight game, saw their five-game streak with points come to an end. Corey Perry and Adam Henrique each had a goal and an assist for Edmonton. Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner had to leave the game in the third period after taking a hit to the head, with Calvin Pickard replacing him.

While their ability to hold the lead in the final minutes, despite pressure from the Oilers, demonstrates resilience, the inconsistency in their overall performance could be a key factor in the NHL postseason.
