The 2021 Ballon d’Or ceremony is just around the corner but people seem unable to hold their expectationsto know the winner. It’s understandable, though, consideringthis award will be given for the first time in two years.

Lionel Messi brought home his world-record sixth golden ball in 2019, in what turned out to be the last prize in a long time. Last year, there was no winner ofthe Ballon d’Or due to the pandemic outbreak early in 2020.

So, all the eyes are on this year’s long-awaited event, with a number of candidates hoping to write their names in the history books. However, a new leaked list with the voting results suggests that Messi will claim the prize once again.
