Earlier this year, Al-Hilal decided to sign Neymar in a blockbuster move that shocked everybody. Unfortunately, the striker won’t play for the rest of the season due to an injury, but the team is set to receive millions of euros from FIFA due to this situation.

During the summer, Neymar ended his relationship with PSG after not reaching an agreement to continue. Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabian club, took advantage of this situation to offer the Brazilian a lucrative deal that he couldn’t reject.

FIFA will compensate Al-Hilal for Neymar’s injury

Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival last year had a transformative impact on the Saudi Pro League. Following in his footsteps, numerous soccer stars opted to join some of the league’s most financially robust clubs, and Neymar was among them.

Al-Hilal offered PSG over $90 million for the Brazilian winger, and the French club didn’t hesitate to accept the deal. He’s certainly considered one of the main stars of the competition, but the team’s fans will have to wait a bit longer to see him in action.

Nevertheless, not all hope is lost for the Saudi Arabian club. According to FIFA’s rules, if a player gets injured during international duty, his club will be compensated for each day that he misses, and Neymar’s torn ACL will bring in millions of euros for Al-Hilal.

As Neymar’s injury is expected to keep him out for six to eight months, FIFA will compensate Al-Hilal with approximately €7.5 million (€20,548 per day). This represents the maximum amount a club can receive when a player is injured during international duty.
