Barcelona will host Real Madrid on Sunday for the first El Clásico of the season. The Catalans are in need of points if they want to climb positions in La Liga, while Real Madrid want to win the three points and try to steal the top spot of the standings

The rivalry between the Cules and Los Blancos is arguably the biggest one in soccer, but for years the focus of many soccer fans regarding this match was the one between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were (are) also competing to be the greatest ever.

While they are both with new teams, El Clásico is still one of the most anticipated events of the season. If you live in the USA, you can watch it on ESPN+. But to prepare for the big match this weekend, let’s see who between Messi and Ronaldo won more Clásicos.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid | Who won more Clásicos: Messi or Ronaldo?

Lionel Messi, who debuted in his first Clásico in 2005, has registered 19 wins, 11 draws and 15 defeats. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, who played his first Clásico in November 2009, has a record of eight wins, eight draws and 14 losses

Messi is also one of the players with most appearances in El Clásico and the one with most goals (26). Cristiano, on the other hand, scored 18 goals in El Clásico but, counting his encounters with other clubs, he has scored 20 goals against Barcelona.

Obviously, trying to replace these two incredible players it’s impossible. However, even without them, El Clásico is still one of the most watched events in the world. If you don’t want to miss it, and you are in the United States, you can watch it on ESPN+.
