Matchday 9of theSpanish La Liga 2021-2022 was played last weekend, from Saturday, October 16 to Monday, October 18.The clash betweenReal Madrid and Athletic Club was postponed until a later date to give the South American players time to recover afterthe international break. Itwas originally scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Atletico Madrid‘s Round 9 home fixture against Granada was postponed for the same reason. Meanwhile,Barcelona faced Valencia at Camp Nou.
