Honduras and Jamaica will meet at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula for Matchday 6 of the Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers 2022 on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Both teams are at the bottom of the standings and need to add points quickly.

The hosts are coming to this match after they were defeated 3-0 by Mexico in Matchday 5. Honduras have three draws and two losses, and no wins so far in the tournament. They really need to get a victory at home, to try to climb positions.

Meanwhile, Jamaica drew without goals to Canada in their last match. The Reggae Boyz also lost to the United States before that. They don’t have wins in the tournament, only two draws. This match could be an opportunity to add points against a direct rival.

Honduras' possible lineup

Against Mexico, Fabian Coito proved a defense with five men but they are likely to go back to their familiar four-men defense against Jamaica. Maynor Figueroa is suspended after being expelled in the last match. As a result, Denil Maldonado could partner Marcelo Pereira in the centre of defence.

This could be Honduras lineup: L. Lopez; Najar, Maldonado, Pereira, Rodriguez; Arriaga, A. Lopez, Flores; Elis, Rivas, Moya.

Jamaica’s possible lineup

On the other hand, Jamaica don’t have any players suspended or injured. Theodore Whitmore could repeat some of the names that played against Canada such as Kemar Roofe. Jamal Lowe and Damion Lowe could also make it into the starting eleven.

This could be Jamaica’s starting eleven against Honduras: Blake; Fisher, D. Lowe, Mariappa, Lawrence; Decordova-Reid, Grant, Watson, Lowe; Roofe, Nicholson.
