Erling Haaland’s days at Borussia Dortmund are numbered, as clubs recuperate economically from the pandemic and revenue begins to pour back in, there is no doubt that Haaland will be next season’s biggest transfer target. The Norwegian forward’s numbers are out of this world having scored 47 goals in 48 games for the yellow and black.
Haaland has 68 goals in 67 games for Dortmund all-time and 137 goals in 178 career games total all before his 22nd birthday! Valued at well over 200 million Euros few teams in the World can afford him. Now according to The Times, Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola will meet with the Manchester City brass to discuss a possible move in January.
That still does not mean Dortmund is not willing to resign their striker as reports also indicate that Dortmund is willing to make Haaland the highest paid player in club history to keep him a while longer, but that looks doubtful due to the sporting aspect of the equation. According to The Times, Erling Haaland still has 1 year left on his current deal with Dortmund come next season, he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract. Once that final year kicks in a release clause of €75 million becomes active, but with 1 year left and so many teams wanting the striker there will be a huge transfer saga for the services of Haaland.
Manchester City is trying to use these preliminary meetings as a way to put themselves on the front foot and be the club of destination for Haaland. City will need to move quickly as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are all after Haaland as well.
