Finally, the top players of Liga MX and MLS met at the Banc of California Stadium in the 2021 MLS All Star Game and the match didn’t disappoint. MLS took the match for the first time since 2015 in penalties with a great Matt Turner, after drawing 1-1 with goals from Jonathan Rodríguez and Jesús Murillo.

Despite being a friendly match, the first half of the game was intense, with the MLS stars having the ball’s possession. However, it was the Liga MX Stars team who scored the first goal thanks to a strike from Rodríguez. It seems they had it under control, until the MLS scored in the second half thanks to a header from Murillo.

The last minutes of the match were thrilling, with both teams creating chances to score. However, 19 year-old Ricardo Pepi could have scored the second on several occasions. He didn’t but at the end, he gave his team the victory in the penalty shootout.
