Puerto Rico national team are ready to have a very moving year after not playing a single game in 2020. The Caribbean side will have a series of matches for CONCACAF and the Caribbean Football Union as well as friendly matches.

Of course, the biggest tournament of the year will be the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, a dream for the Puerto Rican national squad that will try to compete with the biggest teams in the confederation.

It’s time to go through all the confirmed matches they will have this year, as they prepare to compete for a spot in the upcoming FIFA World Cup. They will have a series of matches this month and now we’ll see what’s the schedule for the Caribbean side.

Puerto Rico schedule for friendly matches

Dominican Republic vs Puerto Rico – January 19 at Estadio Olímpico Felix Sanchez

They will start the year with the Caribbean Derby, taking on Dominican Republic as visitors.

Guatemala vs Puerto Rico – January 23 at Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores

Puerto Rico will continue their mini-tour with a game against Guatemala as visitors.

Guatemala vs Puerto Rico – January 26 at Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores

Three days later, the Caribbean side will see Guatemala again to close the first three matches of the year.

Puerto Rico schedule for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Saint Kitts and Nevis vs Puerto Rico – March 24 at Warner Park Sporting Complex

Puerto Rico will start the quest for a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup visiting Saint Kitts.

Puerto Rico vs Trinidad and Tobago – March 28 at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium

They will receive Trinidad and Tobago in the next game trying to keep their hopes of the FWC alive.

Puerto Rico vs Bahamas – June 2 at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium

After that, they will receive Bahamas, too, trying to get three important points in their look for the World Cup.

Guyana vs Puerto Rico – June 8 at Providence Stadium

The last confirmed match for this year for Puerto Rico will take place on June 9 when they visit Guyana to close their participation in the first round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
