Paul Pogba‘s time with Manchester United could be coming to an end next year. The French international heads to the last year of his contract and it seems like he is far from agreeing to an extension anytime soon. Therefore, the Red Devils are reportedly concerned about losing him for free in the next few months.
According to ESPN, four European giants would have Pogba on their radar. However, they would wait until he heads to the end of his deal as from January he would be able to negotiate as a free agent for the following season.
The 28-year-old central midfield became United’s record signing in a $115.50 million transfer but he struggled to live up to expectations as the team couldn’t succeed either. His agent, Mino Raiola, disclaimed the possibility of Pogba staying beyond 2022 at Old Trafford. However, the Red Devils would be considering ways to stick with the Frenchman before these four competitors try to reach him.
Juventus

The Old Lady would be interested in bringing their former superstar back several years after cashing in a record figure for his transfer in 2016. The Italian giants aren’t going through the best of times and they have been failing in every attempt to achieve continental glory so far. Pogba, a much more experienced player from the one that left at 23 years of age, could be seen by Juventus as a great addition to pursue a long-awaited Champions League title.
Real Madrid
Los Blancos have set their sights on Paul Pogba more than once. He has been heavily linked with a Santiago Bernabeu move especially before landing at Manchester United. Still, it’s a strong possibility that he decides to leave the Premier League side soon and Real Madrid would be interested in signing him for free. Will they fulfill an old desire by acquiring the French international?
Barcelona

The Blaugrana’s financial situation forbids them to attempt any big transfer for the time being, which is why most of their signings are being free agents so far. Therefore, they can’t hand United what they pretend for Pogba, yet Barcelona would be able to negotiate directly with the player in January.
PSG
Paris Saint-Germain are currently focused on Kylian Mbappé’s contract situation and addressing possible moves should he decides to leave. Their mind-blowing budget would allow PSG to purchase Pogba in this transfer window, unlike the other three teams. However, they wouldn’t go for it right now and wait until he can arrive for free instead.
