The USMNT and Costa Rica will face each other on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 for Matchday 6 of the Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers 2022. The home side will try to get back on track after losing their last match, while Costa Rica will want to get a second win in a row.

After getting to wins in a row in the Octagon, the United States suffered their first defeat in the tournament against Panama last time out. Gregg Berhalter’s team couldn’t create any clear chances, while Los Canaleros took the chance to score in a corner. Now, they need to recover at home.

Meanwhile, Costa Rica got their first win in the tournament after beating El Salvador 2-1 in a dramatic match at home. With that result, Los Ticos are sixth in the standings with six points, only two away from the United States, who are second.

USA’s confirmed lineup

For this match, Zack Steffen and Antonee Robinson are available after missing the game against Panama due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions. Meanwhile, Weston McKennie will also play after recovering from muscle soreness, while Sergiño Dest will have a spot in the eleven.

This will be USA’s lineup for the match: Zack Steffen, Sergiño Dest, Tyler Adams (capt.), Antonee Robinson, Yunus Musah, Paul Arriola, Weston McKennie, Brenden Aaronson, Miles Robinson, Chris Richards, Ricardo Pepi.

Costa Rica’s confirmed lineup

On the other hand, Costa Rica don’t have any injury concerns after their win over El Salvador, so it’s likely that Luis Fernando Suarez is considering using the same eleven that gave him the victory last time out.

This will be Costa Rica’s starting eleven against the USA: Keylor Navas; Ricardo Blanco, Oscar Duarte, Francisco Calvo, Ronald Matarrita; Keysher Fuller, Yeltsin Tejeda, Bryan Ruiz (capt.), Johan Venegas, Jonathan Moya.
