The Austrian Grand Prix 2021 race will take place this Sunday with Max Verstappen leading the starting grid. The Dutchman triumphed last weekend in the Red Bull Ring, the same circuit of this Formula One race, so he’s the strong favorite. Find out here everything you need to know about the race: information, predictions, odds and how to watch it in the US.

Right now, Max Verstappen is the lead of the Driver standings and he wants to extend his leadership. His teammate, Checo Pérez, will start third as Lando Norris is second in the starting grid. However, neither Valtteri Bottas or Lewis Hamilton couldn’t make any impact on the Red Bulls.

Hamilton, who is second in the Driver’s championships, didn’t have a good qualifying day this Saturday, and he will start the race in fourth place. Mercedes doesn’t feel as dominating as they did last year, especially in the qualys. However, if the rain finally appears this Sunday, things can take a turn.

2021 Austrian Grand Prix: Storylines

As expected, Red Bull’s Verstappen was the fastest in the qualy, being atop of the opening two segments and setting a benchmark of 0,2s quicker than Lando Norris, who was the surprise of the day.

The Q3 final was tense, as Norris started to get the faster. However, he couldn’t surpass Verstappen by a margin of 0.048s. Now, the Red Bull’s driver got his third consecutive pole position. Checo Pérez rounded the day for Red Bull as he got third place.

This will be the first time that Norris will start from P2 in his career. But he’s not the only one to celebrate, as McLaren got their first front row start since the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix, when Lewis Hamilton took the P1.
