France has produced several champions, such as Suzanne Lenglen, Amelie Mauresmo and Mary Pierce. After some years without a standout player, young star Lois Boisson is poised to be the new country’s No. 1 on the women’s side.

Boisson is still in the first stages of her career, but in a short time she has managed to make headlines on the court and off the court. Last year, Boisson, who received an invitation to play the French Open, had to withdraw after tearing her ACL in at the Clarins Trophy.

However, she was able to recover and returned to competition in February of 2025. While playing at Rouen, British player Harriet Dart made a disrespectful comment about her and went viral. But those stories are now a thing of the past, as Boisson has made history in the 2025 French Open with a wonderful run.
