However, Ward has the utmost confidence in Beck, as he hopes to see the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/miami-hurricanes">University of Miami</a> and his former teammates succeed. Ahead of spring practice in Coral Gables, the projected first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft delivered a strong message for the new quarterback on campus.

“I think the biggest thing that I would tell Carson is just be himself and try to win games,” Ward said Miami’s Pro Day, as reported by Miami Herald. “At the end of the day, they can talk how bad they want about you, but if you win games, you’ve got the one-up on them.”

Beck has been one of the most scrutinized quarterbacks in college football over the past seasons, as his performances with the Bulldogs raised many eyebrows. However, Ward had his fair share of critics, as well. Even during his sensational campaign with the Hurricanes, the signal-caller was constantly doubted.



Ward did an excellent job of tuning out the noise surrounding him and the program, focusing solely on his growth and performance. It certainly paid off, with the Hurricanes having a strong season, despite the heartbreaking finale.

As Ward reflected on his final moments as the Miami Hurricanes’ QB1, he shared a strong message about offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, suggesting Beck should have no trouble posting incredible stat lines thanks to the game plan week in and week out.

With former Georgia Bulldogs player watching from the sidelines, the team led by Cristobal aims to become a contender this year. Once the session concluded, head coach Cristobal spoke with the press, sharing his thoughts on Beck’s arrival to the program.



“As positive as you can have without actually having any kind of participation in live drills,” the head coach stated. “The things happened so fast and that one certainly happened a little bit faster and with less familiarity than the previous year, and so all that stuff I would say relationships and leadership, they do take time but everything from initially has been super positive. We’re really excited to see him healthy and working with our guys at full speed.”



Despite the serious injury he suffered late last year, many expected the player to declare for the upcoming NFL Draft after his standout performance with the Bulldogs. “He’s athletic, he’s smart, he’s got superior arm talent, he’s accurate, he can extend plays, he can also sit in the pocket, he runs well,” Cristobal said. “He’s a great human being and he’s demonstrated leadership qualities. He’s really hard on himself, he wants to be great and one of his best qualities is that he wanted to be at Miami.”

<h2>Cavinder shared his thoughts on Beck’s decision to Join Miami</h2>



The relationship between Carson Beck and Hanna Cavinder was seen by many as one of the main reasons why the talented quarterback chose to join the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/miami-hurricanes">Hurricanes</a> program instead of declaring for the Draft. Despite this, one of the stars of the women’s basketball team denied any influence on Beck’s final decision.



“Obviously, the University of Miami is an amazing campus, and I think it was the best decision for him,” Cavinder said to ESPN’s Christine Williamson. “I think he’s gonna love the university. Obviously, I love Miami, so I will stay here. My family’s in Fort Lauderdale, but yeah, I’m super excited for him and to be able to watch him play.



“Honestly, I was not involved at all. I know that a lot of people probably think that. But no, I was not involved at all. It was honestly what was the best decision for him and where he was gonna fit and be able to be successful. I’m super excited for him. It’s very convenient. Obviously, you can’t beat Miami and the people here.”

<h2>Carson Beck’s injury update</h2>



Earlier this year, Carson Beck made the bold decision to join the Hurricanes through the Transfer Portal. While he is still recovering from a serious injury suffered last season with the Bulldogs, it is believed he will be available for the coaching staff soon.



“He’s doing well. He’s running really fast,” Cristobal said of Beck, who recently had his elbow brace removed. “He’s not throwing the ball yet, but he’s very close to doing so, so he’s taking part in all that he can do. And he should be throwing soon, maybe in a couple of weeks or so.”


 


Last December, Beck underwent surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow, an injury sustained while playing in the SEC Championship Game for Georgia.

Kirby Smart and the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/georgia-bulldogs">Georgia Bulldogs</a> are gearing up for a tough season following a disappointing finish to the 2024 campaign. As starting quarterback Carson Beck transferred to the University of Miami, Gunner Stockton is set to take over in the Dawgs’ huddle and has already hinted at his fiery personality with a strong statement.



Stockton was the hero Smart and the Dawgs relied upon after Beck’s injury during the SEC Championship game. The redshirt sophomore quarterback led Georgia to an overtime victory over the Texas Longhorns, and upon learning of the severity of Beck’s absence, Stockton was given the nod to make his first career start during the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">College Football</a> Playoffs Quarterfinal matchup against Notre Dame.



Ultimately, the Bulldogs lost to the Fighting Irish and were knocked out of contention for the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a>‘s National Championship. However, Stockton showcased his worth, with little time of preparation and a very limited amount of snaps. Heading into the 2025 season, Stockton is set to become the starting signal caller in Athens.

“Yeah, I mean in this day and age the transfer portal is pretty easy to get into and just leave,” Gunner Stockton said, via On3. “But like I said, it’s always been my dream to be the starting quarterback at Georgia. I’m really excited. Places like Georgia, I mean they’re supposed to be good. Every year they’re supposed to sign the top quarterback in the country. So that’s how it is.”

<h2>Time to make a name</h2>



Though Stockton heads into 2025 looking like the starting quarterback, his spot is far from guaranteed,as he’ll have to lock it down during spring training and throughout preseason.



Currently, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kirby-smart">Smart </a>has several quarterback options on the roster. Although Stockton has a head start over everyone since he’s experienced crucial game-situations. Ryan Puglisi is currently ranked as QB2 in the program, as he’ll be a sophomore during the 2025 season. Jaden Rashada is third. 



Two freshmaan quarterbacks will be entering the school next season, as Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender join the Dawgs, though it’s highly likely they will redshirt their first year in Athens.

In an unexpected turn of events, former <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/georgia-bulldogs">Georgia Bulldogs</a> quarterback Carson Beck has reversed course and entered the NCAA transfer portal. Initially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, the senior QB opted to utilize his final year of eligibility, thanks to his redshirt freshman season. With a top quarterback now in the transfer portal, one school has already set its sights on the former Dawg and is leading the pursuit for Beck.



It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carson-beck">Beck</a> in such a short time frame. After suffering an injury during the SEC Championship, the Georgia QB took his time to assess his options before opting to undergo season-ending surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament, or UCL in his right elbow. Though he wouldn’t be able to throw a football until spring, Beck declared for the NFL Draft. 



However, Beck’s stock had taken a drastic impact by his inconsistenc performances throughout the 2024 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> season. Perhaps influenced by the likelihood of being selected in the later rounds of the draft, Beck backtracked and announced he’ll be entering the transfer portal.



The former Bulldogs’ quarterback is a huge name in the portal and one that almost every school would be open to signing. Schools lacking a starting signal-caller for the 2025 campaign will lead the charge for him. Regardless, according to reports, there is already one favorite to snag Carson Beck.

The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/miami-hurricanes">Miami Hurricanes</a> have emerged as the favorites to acquire the 23-year-old quarterback, according to reports from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

The Miami Hurricanes are coming off their best season in many years, thanks to the talent of quarterback <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/cam-ward">Cam Ward</a> who finished fourth in Heisman voting. Ward transferred from Washington State to Miami as a senior and showcased his incredible talent. Although the Canes ultimately fell short of their end goal, they may have discovered a formula for success: bringing in experienced talent to lead the team.



Maybe Cam Ward walked so Carson Beck can run in Coral Gables. Though their playstyles differ greatly, both quarterbacks could prove that a change of scenery was exactly what they needed. Meanwhile, head coach Mario Cristobal may have found a system that thrives under QBs with experience in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a>.



Beck’s injury lingers, nevertheless, and may cause some schools in need of an immediate impact from him to steer away in a different direction. That might be the case for the Hurricanes, but since they don’t have any QB recruit coming into the program, Beck may still give them their best shot at the ACC and the College Football Playoffs.

<h2>Other teams in the mix</h2>



While the Canes may be leading the charge for Beck, the Bulldogs’ transfer won’t just fall into their laps, and they will have competitors. Per Pete Nakos of On3, Ohio State and Texas Tech are other teams in the mix for Beck. 


 

 


The Buckeyes have enough on their plates already as they are gearing up to take on the Texas Longhorns at the Cotton Bowl, however, they have an eye set in the future as starting quarterback Will Howard will have no years of eligibility remaining after their current season comes to a close.

Texas Tech doesn’t have a starter at the QB position, either. “Texas Tech has been pushing hard for a starting quarterback, as well. So I think they could loom in the background, too. A healthy Carson Beck would be a top-of-the-market quarterback. He has first-round talent,” Thamel said.



Beck is hoping to unleash his full potential during the 2025 campaign, whether that’s in Coral Gables, Columbus, Lubbock, or another location, and declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, where he could be selected in the higher rounds.

The Georgia Bulldogs, led by Kirby Smart, are about to begin their run in the NCAAF playoffs, with <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carson-beck">Carson Beck</a>‘s absence confirmed due to a serious injury. Despite this, the QB has already made his decision regarding his future in College Football.


 


Finally, the Jacksonville native has made the decision to declare for the upcoming NFL draft. That said, once Beck recovers from his right elbow injury, he will not return to wear the Bulldogs’ colors.



The news was confirmed by On3 via their X (formerly Twitter) account @On3sports: “NEW: Georgia QB Carson Beck has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck underwent surgery on his right elbow and is expected to return to throwing in the spring of 2025.”



Beck’s numbers this season were outstanding: he threw for 3,485 passing yards, leading his team to an 11-2 record. Additionally, they emerged victorious on December 7th against the Longhorns in the SEC Championship Game.

“First off I want to thank God, for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love. Through the ups and downs, the highs and lows, everything that this game produces and provides i’m eternally grateful for. Football has taught me lessons that will last a lifetime and has grown me into the person I am today.



I’m so grateful for my family and those close to me for the support they’ve provided me during this Journey. They’ve always had my back no matter what the circumstance, and I can’t thank them enough for that.



To Coach Smart, Coach Bobo and the rest of the Coaches who were apart of my tenure at UGA, thank you for your wisdom, your unwavering support, and most importantly the time that you’ve sacrificed pouring into not only me, but the many others who came before and after. Regarding this situation, none other than the legendary Nick Saban shared his thoughts on the matter.


 


“I’ve known this kid since he was eight years old,” said Saban. “I’ve watched him since he was eight years old. We recruited him here [Alabama], but he probably always wanted to go to Georgia… The one thing he gives them, in addition, is he is a better runner, I can’t say he’s a better thrower.“ Saban also had high praise for Stockton’s leadership abilities.



“They [Georgia] looked like they showed confidence in the kid by the way they played. They weren’t trying to protect him in the second half of the game,” Saban finally concluded.

While <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kirby-smart">Kirby Smart</a> and the team hoped for a Christmas miracle on quarterback Carson Beck’s injury status, the prayer wasn’t answered and the Dawgs will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with Gunner Stockton under center.



<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carson-beck">Beck</a> injured his right elbow in the final play of the first half of the SEC Championship against the Texas Longhorns. It was certainly an avoidable incident, but it gave place to a domino effect on Smart’s team. The 2024 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> season didn’t pan out as Beck envisioned heading into the year. Though the 23-year-old found his rhythym late in the season, his early struggles raised many eyebrows in Athens and the senior-year QB potential NFL Draft stock plummeted.

As Carson Beck’s MRI results revealed bad news, Dawgs head coach Kirby Smart made a blunt admission about the possibility of rallying behind backup Gunner Stockton.



Losing the starting quarterback can signal any program’s doom in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a>. Ask Florida State fans about it. After the Dawgs QB Carson Beck went down with an upper-body injury before halftime in the SEC Title game, Georgia knew they’d be in for trouble.

Stockton was thrust into the SEC Championship in the second half with little to no notice. The Bulldogs had some time to regroup in the locker room after Beck’s injury and quickly shifted to an offense tailored for Stockton. Georgia relied heavily on the rushing attack and it paid dividends. 



However, come playoff time, the Dawgs will need a reliable outlet at quarterback to avoid becoming one-dimensional and too predictable for opposing defenses. Regardless, Smart is confident Stockton can rise to the occasion.

“This kid’s special. He’s a winner,” Smart said during the postgame celebrations. On Sunday he added: “I think his strengths are somewhat different than Carson’s, obviously, but we’ve known that. The Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Texas Longhorns in a long-awaited rematch for the SEC Championship. As the Dawgs gear up to face off with the Longhorns, head coach Kirby Smart issued a strong message to the players in Georgia’s program, included quarterback <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carson-beck">Carson Beck</a>.



Texas and Georgia last met on October 19. The Dawgs walked into The Forty Acres and handed the Longhorns their lone loss on the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a> season. Since, the Horns have been red-hot and head into the SEC Title match with a five-game win streak. 



Despite this season’s 30-15 triumph over their upcoming opponents, Smart and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/georgia-bulldogs">Georgia</a> aren’t getting overconfident. Texas has improved a lot since, and partially because of their disappointing loss to the Dawgs.



The Bulldogs had to earn their most recent triumph over their eternal rivals, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, as they prevailed 44-42 after eight overtimes. “We’re going to have to play better than we’ve been playing because Texas is really good,” Smart stated, via On3. “I’m very concerned about everything about Texas because they have an extremely talented roster. They’ve got wideouts, backs. Their defense is elite, one of the best in the country. Special teams are elite.

<h2>Carson Beck’s recent turnaround </h2>



Despite Carson Beck’s shaky season, Coach Smart always stood by the Bulldogs quarterback’s side. Beck closed out the season in great form, making Smart proud. Over his last three outings, Beck totalled 941 passing yards, eleven touchdowns and no interceptions. 



It was quite a turnaround for Beck’s numbers, as he amassed 17 TDs to 12 INTS prior to this season-finale stretch.



<h2>Smart makes something clear on DB Julian Humphrey entering transfer portal</h2>



After losing the starting job to Daniel Harris, the Bulldogs cornerback Julian Humphrey didn’t play during Georgia’s win over Georgia Tech. Days before the SEC Championship, Humphrey announced his decision to enter the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> transfer portal.



Smart made his thoughts clear on the matter and diverted the focus to the big task ahead, the most important game of the year for the Bulldogs.

After the win, quarterback Carson Beck delivered a powerful message, issuing a warning to the rest of the nation about the Bulldogs.



<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carson-beck">Carson Beck</a> played a very clean, prolific game for the second week in a row. The Dawgs’ signal caller completed 20 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns during the 59-21 triumph over the Minutemen.

Georgia is firing in all cylinders, once again. Kirby Smart’s team has been brought back to life after the loss to Ole Miss and is now looking as the best contender out of the SEC. <h2>Beck believes team is hitting its prime</h2>



The Bulldogs were always considered a bona fide contender to the National Championship and among the strongest programs in the competitive Southeastern Conference. Despite their losses (to ranked teams and in close matchups), the Dawgs were never taken for granted. However, the last outings have helped the team make a statement.



Beck’s play this year has been under heavy scrutiny, although Smart repeatedly had his team leader’s back. Finally, the quarterback has shown what he’s capable of and strung together all-around convincing performances. However, he credited the team and believes the Dawgs are just getting started.



“I think we’ve really, kind of found our stride kind of late in the season, whether it’s in the run game, and being able to find explosive plays in the pass game, and executing in the red zone. I think we’ve just had a really high level of execution here lately, and it is a good time to start hitting guys.”

Beck’s downfall in his performance has been the biggest topic of concern for the Bulldogs. Georgia’s QB entered Saturday’s matchup against the Vols with five touchdowns to nine interceptions over the last four games. His mistakes have been costly for the Dawgs.



However, against Tennessee Beck had one of his best outings in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> season. Beck completed 62.5% of his passes for 347 yards, two touchdowns and no turnovers. He rushed for a touchdown, and didn’t take sacks, as well. His last game without interceptions thrown was on October 5 against Mississippi State.



<h2>Message to the CFP Selection Committee</h2>



The Bulldogs played with intensity. The CFP Selection Committee’s decision to exclude them from the playoff picture struck a nerve, and the Dawgs were determined to prove them wrong. “I really don’t know what they look for anymore. So, I would welcome anyone in that committee to come down to this league and play in this environment. It’s a tough place to play.”

The Dawgs carry a four-game win streak in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> as they gear up to face the Ole Miss Rebels on the road. The quality against quantity dilemma has become an ongoing topic in Athens. The Bulldogs have taken down the Texas Longhorns and big rivals in the SEC, yet something seems off.

“We don’t condone that on our team or within our program, so we don’t have to address it,” Smart said. “I respect Commissioner Sankey and what he sends out. We just tell them that if they’re injured stay down and if not, you get up and go play. That’s just our philosophy.”



<h2>Georgia’s road ahead</h2>



The Bulldogs have four remaigning games on their schedule. The Dawgs currently boast a 5-1 conference record, and, albeit a catastrophic collapse, are set to make the Playoffs. The next two matchups will be crucial as Georgia will face two ranked opponents in the SEC.
