<p>In a video posted by <em>House of Highlights</em> on TikTok, the 19-year-old was asked to <strong>start, bench and cut the three aforementioned stars</strong>. Unsurprisingly, he picked his father to start. </p>



<p>But the surprising decision came with the following answer, as Bronny would <strong>bench Kobe and cut <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/michael-jordan">Michael Jordan</a></strong>, with a smile at the end of the video. Perhaps this has to do with supporting his father’s case in the GOAT debate.</p>



<p>Many claim MJ is the greatest basketball player of all time, but of course, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james">LeBron James</a>‘ son can’t go against father. Still, the fact that he’d dare to ‘cut’ the Bulls icon gave plenty to talk about on the Internet.</p>

Number two, I think Kobe kind of fell in a weird time.</strong> And what I mean by that is Mike [Jordan] left the league. When Mike left the league, y’all were dominating. And then you left the Lakers. When you left the Lakers, they had a few rough years, it wasn’t great.”</em></p>

<p>He believes that the state of the Lakers, plus the fact that <strong>LeBron James entered the league shortly after</strong>, eventually backfired and prevented Kobe from getting all the love and attention he deserved: </p>



<p><em>“<strong>They didn’t have a great roster. Rudy Tomjanovich, that was that was an epic fail like it just wasn’t great. </strong>And while it wasn’t going great, there was a young guy in Cleveland starting to make his hay. And so, in the years where Kobe could have been dominating, which he was from a number’s standpoint, they weren’t winning. <strong>So in those years, LeBron [James] was making his hay and starting to make his name as the best player.</strong> And I think the amount of time that it was a consensus that Kobe was the number one in the league, like the top guy, I don’t think it was long enough for everybody to say to put him in that conversation, because Bron then came and put his name in the conversation,”</em> Green added.</p>



<p>Per Green, as great a player as Kobe was, he just didn’t get to <strong>dominate for as long as both Jordan and LeBron did</strong>, which is why his GOAT case gets overlooked so often.</p>



<p><em>“And so I don’t think he accumulated enough people saying that he dominated the way Mike dominated in the length of the time that Mike dominated, Bron the length of time that he’s dominated. <strong>I don’t think Kobe dominated himself for that length of time. And I think that’s why people don’t put him in the conversation,</strong>” </em>he concluded.</p>

<p>The former All-Star big man <strong>crashed heads with Kobe Bryant</strong>, leaving as a free agent after just one season. Then, he bounced around the league after leaving the <strong>Houston Rockets,</strong> and had to come back to salvage his career in L.A.</p>



<p>That time, he <strong>shared the floor with<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james"> LeBron James</a></strong>, and while he wasn’t a star anymore, he still played a big role in a championship win. With that in mind, he took some time to compare both stars.</p>



<h2>Dwight Howard Compares Kobe And LeBron</h2>



<p>“<strong><em>They have this presence, and when Kobe walks into the room or LeBron walks into the room, their presence is there and you can feel it,”</em></strong> Howard said on The OGs Podcast. “<em>Kobe was more so like a silent killer. He didn’t really talk too much. LeBron loves to have fun, he wants to make jokes, but when he gets on the court you know he can turn that switch, it’s crazy to watch.”</em></p>

<p>Howard later pointed out<strong> their demeanor</strong> and how they took different approaches when they were on the court, with LeBron being more of a strategist, and Kobe being a stronger presence:</p>



<p>“<strong><em>The mental aspect of it, LeBron is doing all the plays he’s like the coach, and Kobe’s like give me the ball and I’m going to handle it</em></strong><em>, and I think those are the two differences,”</em> Howard continued.</p>



<h2>Howard Didn’t Want To Play For The Lakers</h2>



<p>Ironically, Howard never even wanted to take his talents to Southern California. Apparently, he told the<strong> Orlando Magic</strong> that he didn’t want to be traded there to begin with:</p>



<p>“<em>At the time, I had actually told the Magic the one place I didn’t want to go was the Lakers,”</em> Howard admitted. <em><strong>“It was no offense to the Lakers fans or anything like that but we had just lost in the finals to the Lakers and I’m like man, I want to beat Kobe. They became a global brand and made sure to have nothing but the creme of the crop donning the Purple &amp; Gold jersey.</p>



<p>Simply put, <strong>Lakers fans are used to nothing but excellence.</strong> Every season, it’s championship or bust, regardless of who’s playing or how the rest of the league looks. That’s just the mindset that comes with a franchise like that.</p>

<h2>Kobe Bryant Said Lakers Should Only Hang Banners For NBA Titles</h2>



<p>Throughout the course of his entire career, Bryant<strong> held himself to the highest standard, and he demanded the same for every single one of his teammates.</strong> He even claimed that they didn’t have to like each other, but they needed to pursue a common goal every year:</p>



<p><strong><em>“You have a responsibility to the city of Los Angeles to bring championship banners back where they belong,</em></strong>” Kobe said. <em>“That is your responsibility. You have to understand that nothing else matters. <strong>This franchise does not hang division banners. It does not hang conference championships. We hang one banner and one banner only, and that’s NBA titles.”</strong></em></p>



<p>Kobe knew <strong>how much it meant to play for one of the most storied and successful franchises in sports history.</strong> That’s why he took pride in representing the city of Los Angeles:</p>



<p><strong><em>“It’s a brand thing,” </em></strong>Kobe said.<strong> <em>“Lakers stand for excellence; stand for winning. We don’t have division banners, you know what I’m saying? </em></strong><em>We don’t do that. You don’t retire everyone’s jersey; you retire Hall of Famer’s jerseys.”</em></p>

<p><strong>The legendary shooting guard </strong>made sure to live up to the Lakers’ standard. Through thick and thin, he led by example and wanted everybody else to do the same. That’s why he never tolerated anything but 110% effort, even if it made him look like a bad teammate.</p>



<h2>Lakers Plan To Unveil An In-Season Tournament Banner</h2>



<p>Winning seven games en route to an <strong>NBA Cup</strong> is fine. At the end of the day, teams should go all out to try and win everything, and it only makes sense that the Lakers wanted to win the trophy; that’s fine.</p>



<p>But from that, to hang a banner right next to the ones they have for their actual 17 NBA Championships <strong>is a true testament to what the franchise has turned into since Dr. Buss passed away.</strong></p>



<p>Granted that Kobe didn’t win every year and was a part of some mediocre teams himself, but the standard was always the same. <strong>There was no patting themselves on the back. </strong>There was no celebrating after winning the WCF. It was championship or bust, as it should be.</p>
