Sean Payton is fully aware of Estime’s talent. With the departure of Javonte Williams, Audric Estime is expected to take over as the starter and provide key support to Bo Nix.

<h2>Chiefs’ Christmas history already includes a win over Broncos</h2>



Mahomes has become a fixture on Christmas, as this will be the third consecutive year they take center stage on the holiday. In 2023, they lost to a division rivals when the Las Vegas Raiders upset them at Arrowhead. In 2024, the Chiefs defeated the Steelers in Pittsburgh during the holiday. The Chiefs had already played on Dec. 25 three times before Mahomes though.



Kansas City was one of the first teams to play on Christmas, when the Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins faced off in 1971. That turned out to be the longest game in NFL history, as the Fins won 27-24 after double overtime.



It wasn’t until 2004 that the Chiefs played on Christmas again, this time beating the Raiders by one point (31-30). In 2016, Kansas City played the same AFC West rival is set to face this year.

“You can see the basketball skill set, that’s easy, at a high level. Then you’re looking at a small amount of playing time and yet enough to where you’re watching them. I think the other thing that helped was watching him at the Big 12 Pro Day. There were just a few plays that you see movement skills and it’s a lot to work with. If it turns out like the last one did, then we’d be really excited.“

<h2>Lohner confident in his growth potential in the NFL</h2>

“Some translate like jumping and high pointing the ball,” he said to the press. “But there’s a lot that comes with football that I’m so excited to keep dissecting and keep getting into the fundamentals and technique and all these things that are going to help me be a great football player for the Broncos.”

“I think it’s all about your vision and your vision for the player,” Payton said when asked about drafting RBs in Round 1. “I think there is this feeling often times that there are certain positions that may be more available in the offseason than others. And yet, you have to look at the ability. I remember the selection of [former Saints RB] Reggie [Bush] and how that evolved very clearly, and [former Saints RB Mark] Ingram. Our plan was to take Mark at [No.] 22, and then [Saints DE] Cam Jordan fell to us. We kind of still didn’t want to lose track of the Ingram thing, and then we traded back in.



“So I think if you have a real clear vision for how you want to use them, I think it’s just the team’s feeling for how good that player is and what type of career we think he can have. Then sometimes it’s just the way the draft unfolds. Sometimes [when] you don’t take one, it’s not that you don’t want to take one, it’s just that maybe another position landed in your lap. So a lot of it is your team and then the players specifically.”



<h2>RB prospects the Broncos should keep an eye on</h2>



With the No. 20 overall pick in the upcoming <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> Draft, the Denver Broncos may be just outside the range to land one of the top running backs in this year’s class — but that doesn’t mean they’re out of the conversation. Leading the group is Ashton Jeanty out of Boise State, a dynamic and explosive playmaker who’s widely expected to come off the board within the top 10 picks. Unless Denver moves up via trade, Jeanty might be out of reach — but there’s still plenty of talent left to consider.


 


Names like Omarion Hampton (North Carolina), TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins (both from Ohio State), and Kaleb Johnson (Iowa) are all strong candidates to make an impact at the next level and could realistically be available when the Broncos are on the clock. Each of them brings a different skill set to the table: Hampton with his power and vision, Henderson with breakaway speed, Judkins as a downhill bruiser, and Johnson offering a balanced, all-purpose profile. Any of them could be key pieces in helping Denver build an offense centered around new quarterback Bo Nix.

“That was really the first time I was truly recruited since coming out of high school,” Engram said. “You know us football players, that recruitment is big because there are teams, there are these organizations, these franchises or institutions that are asking you to bring your talents to that place. That means a lot to me.“



<h2>Engram expressed excitement about the opportunity to work with Sean Payton</h2>

Brian Daboll and the New York Giants revamped their quarterback room with two experienced signal-callers by signing both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
