Anything can change in the blink of an eye in major sports. There are no certain things in this business, not even thethings that we took for granted and the players that we could bet that would spend his entire career with a team.

We saw it happen decades ago with Joe Montana and the Kansas City Chiefs, we saw it years ago with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos; and more recently with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And now, the next marquee name that could be changing sides pretty soon in the National Football League is no other than Russell Wilson, who we thought would be a Seattle Seahawk for life.

The Chicago Bears Are The Favorites To Land Russell Wilson

A couple of weeks ago, Wilson voiced his concerns and frustration with the franchise and its inability to protect him. That fueled multiple rumors of a potential trade, and while he didn’t publically askto be traded, it’s known that he’d welcome a move to several teams.

Now, according toSam Panayotovich of Fox Sports, oddsmakers may have the insight on Wilson’s sweepstakes, as they took down the odds of his next team and gave the Chicago Bears a huge boost as next year’s champions:

“We saw sportsbooks take down Russell Wilson “next team” betting odds yesterday. Books also shortened the Bears future odds to win the division, conference and title. One bookmaker just told me: ‘I’ve done a full 180. I’m all aboard the Russ to Chicago hype train.’ Oh snap,”Panayotovich tweeted.

The Chicago Bears have an elite defense, a solid offensive line, and some nice weapons but have struggled at the quarterback position. Obviously, landing Wilson would made them instant contenders.

As for the Seahawks, other than Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, most of their roster would be expendable on a rebuild. The Bears have the assets and the interest, so let’s see if they can get it done.
