When the Cleveland Browns traded for Odell Beckham Jr, expectations around the NFLrose to an all-time high about their never-ending woes finally being a thing of the past. Pairing OBJ with Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, and Nick Chubb made people think of the Browns as Super Bowl contenders.

Fast-forward to the 2019season and it’s pretty clear to state that the Browns underachieved, to say the least. The team was a major disappointment and finished with a 6-10 record and way outside of the playoff picture.

Moreover, both Odell Beckham Jr and Baker Mayfield had mediocre seasons, especially by their standards. There were countless stories and reports claiming that the former New York Giant wanted out of the team and that he never truly meshed with his quarterback.

Odell Beckham Jr Clears The Air Over His Chemistry With Baker Mayfield:

That’s why the superstar wideout wanted to clear the air ahead of the upcoming season, claiming that it’s all good between them and they’ll only get better together as the days go by, also lauding Mayfield’s improved physical condition for the upcoming NFL season:

“Of course, I’m going to say [the chemistry] is going to be better than last year. It’s kind of a day-by-day approach, and we’ll see what happens when we get out on the field. As far as him, he looks great — mentally, physically. He has like a four-pack now. He’s doing great. He’s just in a good place. As a teammate and as a guy who has always been a fan of Baker and as a brother, it’s great to see him in this place,” OBJ told Cleveland.com.

Odell Beckham Jr Is Finally Healthy:

OBJ was clearly uncomfortable for most of last season. He was pretty banged up with multiple nagging injuries and was only able to log1,035 receiving yards on 74 receptions and a career-low 4 receiving touchdowns.

Beckham wanted to be more involved in the offense but his injuries didn’t allow him to get separation and make the impact he’s used to. Now, he’s poised for a bounce-back season as the Browns look to make the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
