The 2021-22 season has just begun but many clubs are already looking forward to the next transfer window in January. Juventus are understood to be one of those sides, as the Italian giants aim to boost their midfield.
Although they got off to a great start to the UEFA Champions League, the Old Lady have had a slow start to the Serie A and it seems like they still have plenty of work to do. Following a frustrating 2020-21 campaign, this summer hasn’t been helpful for them either as they lost Cristiano Ronaldo.
While they’re trying to resolve Paulo Dybala‘s contract extension, Juventus would be focusedon upgrading the middle of the park as soon as possible, with a couple of players likely to part waysin winter.
Juventus reportedly interested in AS Monaco starwho could leave for €40m
Manuel Locatelli has stepped up recently in the midfield but that wouldn’t be enough for Juve as they’ll probably offload two players sooner rather than later. Aaron Ramsey and USA international Weston McKennie are believed to be on their way out of Turin, which is why a new face could arrive in 2022.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus see in AS Monaco‘sAurelien Tchouameni a fantastic target and their priority option to boost the center of the field. The report claims the Ligue 1 side would be willing to let their star leave for €40 million, a reasonable price tag considering his 21 years of age.
Tchouameni, whohas three senior international caps with France, is under contract until June 2024 and his transfer market value is €30m, according to Transfermarkt. Early in his career, he has already attracted interest from the Premier League.
He was reportedly on both Chelsea and Liverpool‘s radar this summer although a deal has never materialized. Juventuswould continue to monitor Tchouamenibut this arrival might depend on what happens with Ramsey and McKennie.
