Cooper Flagg is, by all means, the best prospect in college basketball. That’s why NBA scouts have him as the projected first-overall pick in the upcoming edition of the NBA Draft.
As such, most people fully expect him to land with the Dallas Mavericks, the team that won the draft lottery and could use another generational talent after giving up on Luka Doncic.
However, things might not be as smooth in Dallas right now. According to a report by James Edwards III of The Athletic, coach Jason Kidd isn’t happy with the organization right now, and he could look to leave.
Jason Kidd could leave the Mavericks
“Kidd didn’t always enjoy being Dallas’ spokesperson in the aftermath of the franchise trading Luka Dončić, per league sources. In a Feb. 10 game against the Kings, Mavericks center Daniel Gafford got hurt. In the middle of the injury crisis, multiple fans were also ejected for protesting the Dončić trade. Kidd didn’t address the media afterward,” Edwards reported, adding that other teams “really believe Kidd is attainable.”

Of course, that would also depend on whether Kidd or any other team manage to convince the Mavericks to either fire him or trade him, and that doesn’t seem likely.
